Brandon Blough
ASSISTANT TREASURER

Brandon has served on the IPPFA Board of Directors since 2017, and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer for NPPFA Benefits. He is a retired Fire Chief from the Springfield Fire Department, serving nearly 24 years, with two and a half years as Chief. He was a proud member of Local 37 for the SFD, participating in annual fundraising events and various committees.
Brandon was first elected to Springfield Firefighters’ Pension Board in 2009, serving first as a Trustee and later as Board President. During his terms on the board, he helped usher in the hiring of investment consultants, fund actuaries, and administrators, particularly focusing on the board’s responsibilities of due diligence and trustee education.
He started as a Retirement Specialist for IPPFA Benefits in 2012, assisting municipal employees plan for retirement, covering central and southern Illinois. He maintains his Series 6 and Series 63 licensure, and has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Assisting with the IPPFA's seminars and speaking to groups on retirement strategies and pension issues are two things he is particularly passionate about. He has also served on the IPPFA Legislative Committee since 2017.
Brandon resides in Springfield with his wife, Tammy, and their son, Jackson, who attends SIU School of Medicine.

ABOUT IPPFA

The IPPFA was founded in 1985 as a not-for-profit organization whose mandate was to educate public pension fund trustees. In 2009 the IPPFA became the primary education provider for public pension fund trustees in the state of Illinois. Our members manage over eighteen billion dollars in pension assets.
